Principals Highlights / Community Information Update:  T1 W6-7
Well it is certainly quiet here at school this morning!  My highlights from last week were returning to school after isolation and working with the fabulous Room 4 and getting some great te reo and art done.  I hope everyone and their whanau are keeping safe or at least comfortable as we head into this week of Distance Learning.  Here are a few things to keep you all updated:-
Covid-19 Update:
I have received notification of a student testing positive over the weekend and more households going into isolation as a result of being a household contact so please keep an eye on your children for any signs of Covid and get them tested if they appear to be unwell.  "At least once you know - you know" and can set about making plans for you and your whanau to isolate for the 7 days required.
Parent-Teacher Interviews:
These are going ahead via telephone today.  Your childs teacher will contact you.  They are 10-15 mins long and a chance for you and your child's teacher to discuss the latest formal testing results and make a plan / set goals going forward.  We are hoping that once we return to school it will be straight into teaching and learning now that we know where achievement is at.
Distance Learning:
Rooms 1 & 2 Distance Learning Hardpacks are in the turf ready to be collected so pop down today to grab your childs if you haven't already.  Rooms 3 & 4 are all online and you / your child will have received communication about this already.  There are no children learning on site at the momet. At this stage we will be returning to school physically on MONDAY 21st MARCH.
Maihiihi School Swimming Sports at Otorohanga Pools:
This has been postponed until Thursday 24th March (fingers crossed).  Just a reminder that this is for 8yr olds and up only.  It is a closed school event.  Permission slips to travel by bus will be coming home Monday next week.
Slink Run Parent Wanted:
We are still looking for a parent to organise this years Casualty Calf run. Please let us know if you can do this.  It is another one of our major fundraisers and we deparately need it to go ahead.  Even if you are considering it we can put you in touch with Nicki who organised this last year and she will talk you through it.  Either ring the office and leave a message or let myself or Juliette know.
That's all for now folks - let us know if we can support you / your child in anyway.
Kia haumaru te noho,
Vanessa
