The Board of Trustees is charged with governing the school. 

Their responsibilities include:

• Supporting the Principal in the professional leadership of the school
• Ensuring the children get the best possible educational opportunities
• Approving and supporting the Maihiihi School Charter
• Approving school policy statements
• Setting the yearly budget
• Property management
• Personnel and industrial matters
